Iran Air Restarts Quetta-Zahedan Route to Boost Cross-Border Trade and Mobility

Direct flights between Pakistan’s Balochistan province and Iran have resumed following a brief hiatus, with the inaugural return service carrying over 80 passengers and drawing strong support from regional business communities.

Iran Air has officially reactivated its air corridor between Quetta and Zahedan, restoring a vital transport link designed to streamline trade, commercial exchanges, and passenger transit between Pakistan and Iran.

Flight IRA 0827 landed at Quetta International Airport from Zahedan on Tuesday, subsequently departing for the Iranian destination with more than 80 travelers on board.

The revival of this aviation route is anticipated to significantly enhance regional connectivity, offering merchants, traders, and regular commuters a reliable and efficient travel alternative. This milestone arrives as commercial leaders from both nations actively pursue closer bilateral economic cooperation and expanded cross-border trade volumes.

The Quetta-Zahedan and Quetta-Mashhad flight paths were initially launched in December 2025 by Balochistan Governor Jafar Khan Mandokhail. Although the carrier temporarily paused operations due to shifting regional and international conditions, the swift restoration of the Quetta-Zahedan link underscores both parties’ commitment to fostering steady commercial interactions and people-to-people mobility.
